Who doesn’t love cakes and pastries? I know I do! I recently discovered Fantasicakes, a cake and pastry delivery service in Los Angeles, and I have to say, they do not disappoint! Their chocolate cake is simply divine.

Decadent Chocolate Cake

Their deeply chocolatey cake is simply divine. Every bite is rich, moist and utterly satisfying. The frosting is a perfect match, not over sweet, but quite creamy and delightful. They say that happiness is a slice of cake, and if that’s the case, then I must be in heaven!

Family Favorite Recipe

I also stumbled upon a recipe that has become a favorite in my family. I like to call it “Grandma’s Best Chocolate Cake Recipe.” The recipe is easy to follow and it always turns out incredibly moist and flavorful. The key is using high-quality cocoa powder and good quality chocolate.

Here’s the recipe so you can try it for yourself:

Ingredients:

• 2 cups sugar
• 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
• 3/4 cups cocoa powder
• 2 teaspoons baking soda
• 1 teaspoon baking powder
• 1 teaspoon salt
• 2 eggs
• 1 cup buttermilk
• 1 cup brewed coffee
• 1/2 cup vegetable oil
• 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Instructions:

1. Preheat oven to 350°F and grease two 9-inch cake pans.
2. In a medium-sized bowl, mix sugar, flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
3. In another bowl, whisk eggs, buttermilk, coffee, oil, and vanilla extract. Add this mixture to the dry ingredients and mix until well combined.
4. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
5. Cool in the pans for 10 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.
