I recently stumbled upon a delicious Asian Salmon recipe that I just have to share with all of you. It’s the perfect combination of sweet, salty and savory, making it an instant favorite in this household. Along with the recipe, I also found a great image of an Asian-style salmon with carrot and cucumber slaw in a peanut dressing that I just had to add to my recipe box.
To start, you’ll need a few ingredients:
-4 salmon fillets
-2 tablespoons of soy sauce
-2 tablespoons of honey
-2 teaspoons of sesame oil
-1 teaspoon of grated ginger
-2 teaspoons of minced garlic
-2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
-sesame seeds to garnish
Begin by preheating your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Then, in a small bowl, mix together the soy sauce, honey, sesame oil, ginger, and garlic. This will be your marinade for the salmon.
Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish, skin side down. Then, pour the marinade on top of the fillets and let it sit for 15 minutes.
In the meantime, heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, place the salmon fillets skin side up in the skillet and let them cook for about 3 minutes. Flip the fillets over so that the skin is now facing down and continue cooking for another 2-4 minutes or until they’re cooked to your liking.
Now for the fun part – plating the salmon! Start by placing the salmon fillets on a bed of rice. Then, sprinkle the sesame seeds on top for some added crunch. For the finishing touch, drizzle some of the remaining marinade on top of the fillets.
As for the image I found, I can’t wait to try the Asian-style salmon with carrot and cucumber slaw in a peanut dressing. To make this recipe, you’ll need the following ingredients:
-1 pound of salmon
-2 tablespoons of low sodium soy sauce
-2 tablespoons of hoisin sauce
-1 tablespoon of honey
-1 tablespoon of lime juice

While the salmon is cooking, mix together the peanut butter, hot water, and rice vinegar in a small bowl. This will be your dressing for the slaw.
Once the salmon is done, remove it from the skillet and let it cool for a few minutes. Then, flake it apart with a fork and set it aside.
In a large bowl, combine the shredded carrots and cucumber. Pour the dressing over the top and toss everything together.
To serve, place a generous portion of the slaw on a plate and top it with the flaked salmon. Voila – an Asian-inspired salmon dish that’s both healthy and delicious.
