Baked Asian Turkey Meatballs
To make these meatballs, you’ll need:
- 1 lb ground turkey
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup gluten-free breadcrumbs
- 3 green onions, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp ginger, grated
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- Sesame seeds, for garnish
Preheat your oven to 400 degrees F. In a large bowl, combine the ground turkey, egg, gluten-free breadcrumbs, green onions, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper. Mix all the ingredients using your hands until well combined. Then, shape the mixture into 1 1/2 inch meatballs.
Place the meatballs on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes or until cooked through. Once cooked, sprinkle with sesame seeds for garnish.
Asian Turkey with Asian Spices Brine
If you’re looking for a unique and flavorful way to prepare your turkey for Thanksgiving, try this Asian Turkey with Asian Spices Brine. The brine infuses the turkey with delicious Asian flavors and ensures that it comes out juicy and tender.
To make the brine, you’ll need:
- 1 cup kosher salt
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/2 cup rice vinegar
- 2 tbsp sesame oil
- 2 tbsp ginger, grated
- 2 tbsp garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp szechuan peppercorns
- 4 green onions, chopped
- 1 gallon water
In a large pot, combine all the ingredients except for the turkey. Bring the mixture to a boil, stirring until the salt and sugar have dissolved. Remove the pot from the heat and let the brine cool to room temperature.
Place the turkey in a large, deep container and pour the cooled brine over it. You want to make sure the entire turkey is submerged in the brine. Cover and refrigerate for 24-48 hours. When you’re ready to cook the turkey, remove it from the brine, rinse it off, and pat it dry with paper towels.
